There are now 90 members and Secretary Heather Vaughan told News Of The Area, “Our major source of income is from seafood raffles held every three weeks at Tea Gardens Country Club.” So the Country Club was the natural venue for their Presentation Night. “The activities began with a delicious meal, followed by presentation of prizes to our overall winners and other categories of secret weight, secret fish and monthly outing winners.” “Our Junior Champion for this year was Megan Markham, who has now moved onto our senior division,” Heather said. “Ladies Overall Champion was Beth Anderson, Ladies runner up Robyn Hill-Smith and Men’s Champion Bill Thrift and runner up Greg Thrift.’’ The Fishing Club also raises money for worthwhile causes. “From our raffles we are able to donate $500 to Oncology Day through the Ladies Bowling Club. $500 also to TROG Research for Prostate Cancer and $50 to the Tea Gardens Public School for their Anzac Day contribution.
