Art House Stuarts Point host fundraising event for Turkey and Syria earthquakes

CONCERNED locals have organised a morning of events on Saturday 4 March from 9.30am to 1pm as a way to show support and raise funds to aid the people of Turkey (Türkiye) and Syria, who were recently devastated by earthquakes.

Stuarts Point Anglican Church, also known as the ‘Art House’, located at 25 Ocean Avenue, Stuarts Point, will be the venue for a busy variety of activities and morning tea and lunch will be available.

Available for sale will be Indonesian satay BBQ, cakes and baked goods, Indonesian products, bric-a-brac and clothes and plants.

A weaving workshop will be offered by Elaine Carmady, while dance workshops will be hosted by Suara Dance and Carolina Moretzsohn.

Movement meditation with Narayan, a music performance by Valla Voices, face painting, a drum circle and crafts will also be on offer.

Organiser Alfrica encourages everyone to come along and share in our local talent, compassion and generosity.

“All donations and proceeds from this event will be going towards the relief effort supporting families affected by the recent earthquake,” Alfrica said.
