A second march will commence at 10:45am.

After not being able to run a service last year due to the pandemic, the sub-Branch are looking forward to welcoming the community back for the important day.

Steve Newman, secretary of the sub-Branch, says that the road and intersection will be closed off and that those wishing to march can meet at the Bulahdelah Hospital on Richmond Street.

“Unfortunately, there is no allocation for ADF members this year due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 and the flood clean-ups,” he said.

For any additional information on the service, please contact Steve Newman on 0427 006 985.

There will also be Two Up on at the Bulahdelah Bowling Club.

Also being held at Bulahdelah is a private gathering commemorating ANZAC Day.

The event is being held by the A10-Shun Veterans Support Group, which takes great pride in inviting the community of Bulahdelah to attend an ANZAC Day Memorial Service at 860 Markwell Rd, Bulahdelah on 25 April 2022 within a private Memorial Garden.

This service will also be held at dawn, however it has no affiliation with the services conducted by local RSL sub-Branches.

The members within this group are all ex-Service or family of ex-Service personnel, with volunteers supporting the event behind the scenes.

The organisers of this event say the event is held out of respect for the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country free.

“(The event is) for my lost mates and unit members that (checked out) during or after their service.”

However, the group welcomes all community members to attend.

The event will start at 5:30am with a Muster Parade with rum and bonox or rum and coffee (or another beverage within your hip flask).

The service will commence at 5:50am.

After the service there will be a Gunfire Breakfast and a chance to enjoy “tea or coffee, or your own poison”.

RSL NSW President Ray James said that commemorating significant moments in our military history is vital to Australia, as a people, a community, and a nation.

“As the custodians of the ANZAC spirit, RSL NSW and its sub-Branches work tirelessly to ensure that people honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served their country in all conflicts,” Mr James said.
