Their election of 2019 School Captains is a true reflection that they stand by their moto. The School Captains for 2019 are Phoebe Low and William Swan. Phoebe is an outstanding student who is reliable and trustworthy. She is best known for her happy, positive outlook, and her well-timed jokes. William is a calm, enthusiastic student who can always be relied on to follow school and community PBL values. He is a friend to everyone and is a positive role model for all students. The School Vice Captains for 2019 are Jakoby Hunter, Kaitlyn Taylor, Maggie Castles, and Lachlan Hilzinger-Geise. The Stage 3 Assistant Principal, Mr Matthew MacDonald said, “With such a high calibre of leadership within the school and role models such as these six students, 2019 is shaping up to be a great year at Irrawang Public School.” From little to big school, the incoming 2019 Irrawang High School’s student leadership group consists of nine exemplary students. They were elected into their positions by their peers and teachers. The newly elected representatives, their parents, and the principal Mr Paul Baxter signed a Student Leader Code of Behaviour to begin their tenure as the 2019 Student Leaders. School Captain for 2019 are Samantha Newell and Ryan Knowles. Samantha is a national referee in both futsal and soccer. Ryan enjoys fishing and playing soccer. School Vice Captains are Rebekah Agius and Matthew Burke. Rebekah plays hockey and soccer. Matthew enjoys cheerleading and dancing. Student Leaders are Hannah Williams and Tara Courtney. Hannah enjoys horse riding, netball, and football. Tara is undertaking a TAFE course in childcare. CAPA Ambassador is Jenny Tiamu. Jenny is involved with cultural activities and rugby league. Support Unit Ambassadors are Timothy and Mitchell Low. Together Timothy and Mitchell raised over $5000 for Cerebral Palsy Alliance. They also enjoy Sailability and lawn bowls.
