Lior is renowned for his beautiful voice and diverse musical interests and the performance promises to provide an eclectic experience from Ravel and Dvorak through to Lior’s own compositions. Lior was awarded the Sydney Myer Music Creative Fellowship in 2019 for outstanding talent and exceptional courage, one of only nine artists nationally across all art forms to receive the award. The internationally-acclaimed Tinalley String Quartet has established itself as one of Australia’s finest string quartets. Formed in Melbourne in 2003, the Quartet was awarded the Grand Prize at the 2005 Australian Chamber Music Competition and first prize at the ninth Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2017. Limelight Magazine wrote of them, ‘’When you invest in a new album of classics you’ll want a musical calibre surpassing previous releases of the same works and a sense of originality – that’s exactly what you will find in Tinalley String Quartet’s new release.” Coffs Harbour Music Society President Liz Jamison said, “We were intending to hold the concert using a grant from the Coffs Harbour City Council before COVID struck. “The Council kindly held over the grant and we are now delighted to be able to host this amazing collaboration of musicians.” Lior will also be holding a singing and songwriting workshop on June 30. The performance will be in Lecture Theatre D, Coffs Harbour Education Campus, and will commence at 7.30 pm. Tickets and information about the workshop are available from coffsmusicsociety.com.au or by ringing 0466 985 652 and tickets will also be available at the door. By Andrew VIVIAN
