On Monday 7 March members of the Hawks Nest Bridge Club were delighted to share champagne and cake with Allan Stewart, celebrating his 101st birthday.

“It seems only such a short time since we celebrated his centenary,” Linda Conroy told News Of The Area.

Allan has been a long term member of the club and still plays two to three times a week.

Mr Stewart said that playing has helped to keep his mind sharp.

“He is a perfect example of the benefits that can be obtained from learning and playing bridge,” Ms Conroy said.
