AFL North Coast has recognised its best players of the 2021 senior seasons by holding best and fairest counts on its social media platform.

Throughout the week AFL North Coast provided progress vote counts before the eventual announcement of the best and fairest winners.

Voting was the same 3-2-1 style seen at the Brownlow Medal.

Northern Beaches Blues player Fraser Duryea took home top honours in the seniors competition, with Port Macquarie Magpies’ Braden Saggers finishing runner up in the count.

Duryea made history becoming only the second player in the 40-year history of the AFL North Coast to win the seniors best and fairest with two clubs, having previously won the award playing for the Coffs Harbour Breakers in 2016.

Gina-lynn Cardillo made it a double for the Northern Beaches Blues winning the women’s best and fairest ahead of the Coffs Harbour Breakers’ Cassidy Ronalds.

Daniel Pritchard of the Sawtell/Toormina Saints was awarded best and fairest of the reserves competition.

The reserves competition saw an amazing four-way tie for runners up with Will Chadwick (Coffs Harbour Breakers), Travis Maloney (Coffs Harbour Breakers), Timothy Ebbs (Port Macquarie Magpies), and Will Lloyd (Sawtell/Toormina Saints) sharing the award.

The under 17 best and fairest went to Michael Luxton of the Grafton Tigers with Teronne Roberts-Potter from the Coffs Harbour Breakers finishing runner up.
