Last week it was Karuah’s turn to put out the welcome mat when the family stopped over at the Big4 holiday park for a fundraising sausage sizzle and happy hour with the local community. “We walked the sand dunes and dined out on the oysters,” said Kate. Kate’s family and 2 other groups are travelling Ambassadors for the “Dometic Follow the Sun” campaign. “We’ve been to Mt Isa, Longreach, Roma, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, just to name a few stops so far on our 3 month journey.” “We’re home schooling 12 year old Josh and 10 year old Charlie, but the kids are learning so much more just through our travels,” said Kate. The aim of the 3 teams of “pink travellers“ is to raise $60,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Kate and her family are due to finish their journey in Melbourne next month.
