A tribute to ‘Socks’ – Myall U3A Photography Group’s May Monthly Photograph selected

‘Socks’ the dingo, who passed away on May 2.

EACH month a photograph is selected from the Myall U3A Photography Group’s monthly meeting to be published in News Of The Area.

The chosen photo for May was submitted by group member Dawn Nealon as a tribute to ‘Socks’, the beautiful Hawks Nest dingo who lost her life on Monday 2 May on Mungo Brush Road.

“This was the last photo I took of her on April 13 last,” said Dawn.

“In the beginning she was a tiny emaciated little puppy and gradually grew into a beautiful, healthy, playful little dingo.
“Most local residents knew her.

“She’d pay regular visits to the Golf course and surrounds, and was often seen sunning herself on the roadside while watching the comings and goings.

“As a solitary creature she had the habit of passing my house several times a day, trotting along with her tail bobbing.
“I observed her hunting skills and watched her funny antics.

“She obliged the visitors in taking their holiday snaps, bringing joy and pleasure to those who took the time to observe her.

“My last sighting of her was walking past my house on Sunday afternoon heading towards the setting sun.

“She’ll continue to watch the activities from her mural in the park.

“RIP my darling, I will miss you.

“We will all miss you.”
