Each will share their already-tested sustainable solutions with the aim of inspiring attendees to apply them in their own business.

“Sustainability is (Im)Possible will bring together local business leaders telling stories of how they adopted sustainable practices and cut the cost of doing business – all while reducing their carbon footprint,” Fiona Barden, Council’s Section Leader, Industry and Destination Development, told News Of The Area.

“Far from being a passing fad, organisations around the world have seen first-hand how environmental sustainability efforts are good for people, planet and profit.

“Closer to home, there are great examples of Coffs Coast businesses turning problems into opportunities.

“Innovative thinking, resilience and sustainability are the pillars of business aptitude and capacity building, and we are excited to have showcased some key foundations of these pillars to our local business community during the Festival of New Thinking over the last two months,” said Fiona.

At the upcoming event, Alicia Cameron, business owner and founder of Plastic Free Port Stephens, will share insights and practical ideas she has gained working with a variety of industries, to help attendees understand solutions to plastic pollution and why this matters to our community and customers.

Participants will be invited to express their interest in staying connected to collaborate and bolster the Coffs Coast’s sustainable business profile.

6 degrees is an initiative of Coffs Harbour City Council supporting innovation, startups, and business growth.

The event is on Thursday July 8, 5pm to 7:30pm at Coffs Central – COVID-safe with limited capacity.
