OPPORTUNITY knocks for Port Stephens not-for-profit groups with a total of $300,000 available for the delivery of infrastructure projects in Port Stephens.

Applications are now open for the Community Building Partnership Grants and will close on 9 August, 2017.

Charities, sporting clubs, social clubs and environmental groups have all received funding through this program previously.

Projects must be focused on building or repairing community infrastructure, or purchasing large items of equipment for use in the community.

Previous recipients in the last round of these grants in Port Stephens included projects such as the construction of the Port Stephens Koala Hospital, Upgrading emergency exits at the PCYC, building pathways along the Tanilba Bay Foreshore precinct and providing disability access to the Nelson Head Lighthouse and Rescue Station Reserve.

Successful recipients will be announced in December.

Grant applications must have a minimum value of $2500 to be eligible for funding under the program.

Member for Port Stephens told News Of The Area, “This grant funding offers an excellent opportunity for local community groups to fund projects on their wishlists.”
“It is wonderful to see the results of the groups who have sought this funding previously making a difference in our community.”

“I encourage all eligible local groups to apply for this grant funding. If your group has tried in the past and haven’t been successful, I urge you to try again, your group’s project is important to you and the wider community of Port Stephens,” she said.
