Previous recipients in the last round of these grants in Port Stephens included projects such as the construction of the Port Stephens Koala Hospital, Upgrading emergency exits at the PCYC, building pathways along the Tanilba Bay Foreshore precinct and providing disability access to the Nelson Head Lighthouse and Rescue Station Reserve. Successful recipients will be announced in December. Grant applications must have a minimum value of $2500 to be eligible for funding under the program. Member for Port Stephens told News Of The Area, “This grant funding offers an excellent opportunity for local community groups to fund projects on their wishlists.” “It is wonderful to see the results of the groups who have sought this funding previously making a difference in our community.” “I encourage all eligible local groups to apply for this grant funding. If your group has tried in the past and haven’t been successful, I urge you to try again, your group’s project is important to you and the wider community of Port Stephens,” she said.
