“Raising funds for many organisations is often very difficult, so these grants will enable projects to be started and others to be finished, all to the benefit of their local communities,” Myall Lakes MP Stephen Bromhead said.

The Bulahdelah Show Society will receive $7,500 to refurbish a portable building now on the Show site.

“We bought it second hand and it needs a bit of attention, some down pipes, guttering and a coat of paint,” Society President Gary Gooch told News Of The Area.

The portable building will be used by administration staff during the Bulahdelah Show in November.

It may also be possible for other users of the Showground to have access to the building at other times of the year.

“As in past years, we had a huge response to the call for applications for a grant under the CBP program and I’ve been delighted to personally phone successful applicants with the good news and hear first-hand the delight the news brings,” Mr Bromhead said.

“For those who were not successful on this occasion, I encourage them to look for the opening of applications in the 2017 round of CBP grants this July.”
