These scholarships are designed to provide funding for further training or tools of trades for young people who may struggle in their first year of study outside the school system. In 2016 there were seven recipients of the Soldiers point Marina Scholarships from the Port Stephens region. Amy Weston received $1000 towards a Diploma of Leadership. Jessica Drummond received $1000 towards an Accounting Course at TAFE. A further five students from Tomaree High School were awarded scholarships providing essential uniforms for their hospitality training courses.
