Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Once COVID-19 restrictions have eased, Woolgoolga Fire and Rescue Service intends to arrange demonstrations of the kitchen fire simulator with local organisations, community groups and schools to display how easy it is for kitchen fires to start, and how dangerous they can be. Woolgoolga Fire and Rescue Service gave Woolgoolga Lions Club members a firsthand demonstration of this danger at Woolgoolga Fire Station on Monday, 12 October when fire service personnel combined 100mls of oil in a small saucepan with 100mls of water to produce a potentially catastrophic result. “It is with pride that the club can assist the Fire and Rescue Service to get their message out to the public to ‘keep looking while cooking’ and never pour water onto an oil fire,” a Woolgoolga Lions Club spokesperson said.
