Peter Alley’s Campaign Bus hits Tea Gardens FEATURED Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - May 26, 2016 Country Labor Candidate for Lyne Peter Alley took his show on the road last week rolling into Tea Gardens in Labor’s massive campaign bus. It was hard to miss the coach as it pulled into the library carpark covered in images of Opposition Leader Bill Shorten and Labor’s campaign slogan, “We’ll put people first.” The visit to the area was part of Labor’s 17 day road trip from Cairns to Canberra visiting 34 electorates throughout the 2500 kilometre journey. Mr Alley said the bus tour offered the chance to introduce Labor’s 100 Positive Policies. “We stopped in at Wauchope, Taree, Tuncurry and here in Tea Gardens today, talking with locals about positive change,” Mr Alley said. “The bus tour is a good opportunity to highlight Labor’s 100 Positive Policies in regards to Healthcare, Medicare and Education.” Mr Alley said Labor announced a new policy each day of the tour with health funding the hot topic as the bus travelled through the Federal seat of Lyne. “The main focus today is on Medicare and tomorrow we will be making a major announcement on healthcare,” Mr Alley told News Of The Area. “We need a Government that will stand and defend Medicare and one who will ensure that bulk-billing will continue for pathology and diagnostic services, and only a Labor Government will ensure that,” he said. Email us today for a quote: ads@mcnota.com.au Health and Education are campaign priorities for Mr Alley who said Labor is committed to “implementing the Gonski School funding reforms in full for the entire six years.” Mr Alley boarded the bus to tour the Lyne Electorate with Mr Shorten and Labor Senators hopping on and off at various stages throughout the journey. No road trip would be complete without taking a couple of ‘selfies’ along the way with Mr Alley snapping himself with local supporters inside the campaign bus. Peter Alley returned to Tea Gardens last Saturday taking the opportunity to speak with local residents at the Myall Quays Market Day.
