By Lee ANDERSON Celebrate Winter with Galleries in the Gardens ARTISTS celebrating the start of the winter season invite the community to join them for the Winter Warmer on Friday 5 June. Always a popular evening, Galleries in the Gardens (GIG) members have chosen this year’s art theme of ‘Reflections’ to launch their long weekend art exhibition. “It’s a great time to catch up with friends whilst taking in the latest works by our talented local artists” said Jan, a regular supporter of GIG. “I am always interested to see how the artist’s interpret their annual art theme, it gives the evening a fresh approach every year.” The exhibition opens at 5pm with music, drinks and delicious hot finger food. Tea Gardens traders have small stalls and exhibitions of their products and the beer garden at Tea Gardens Hotel/Motel takes on a winter festive atmosphere. Well known Tea Gardens artist Rex Newell will judge the exhibition and announce the winner at the opening. Rex is renowned for his distinctive oil paintings depicting Australian outback scenes and historic buildings. Come and join Galleries in the Gardens artists from 5pm on Friday 5 June at Tea Gardens Hotel/Motel and help us celebrate the sixth year of the Winter Warmer. All welcome, it’s a great way to start the long weekend.
