Especially for those moving to a new area and seeking new contacts outside the workplace.
The Port Stephens Friendship Group was founded to help newcomers and existing Port residents make friends easily.
The group enjoys regular dinners and get togethers and they also enjoy the occasional road trip.
The Port Stephens Friendship Group recently took a seven day trip to the Gold Coast and North Coast.
Roslyn Holman, Secretary of the Port Stephens Friendship Group spoke to News Of The Area about the trip, “What a time the travellers had with fun, laughter, sightseeing all combined to make the trip memorable.
“Highlights were the Slim Dusty Centre, Skypoint Observation Deck, Australian Outback Spectacular, Tamborine Rainforest Sky Walk and, of course, the wineries and so much more.”
The Outback Spectacular is a tribute show to all things Australiana and tells the story of the Man From Snowy River.
A great deal of organisation goes into such an adventure and the group sends their thanks to all the members’ involved and of course Port Stephen Coaches who were the “designated drivers and tour guide, ensuring a great time was had by all,” she said.
The Port Stephens Friendship Group holds monthly meetings on the last Tuesday of each month at 5.00pm at West Diggers Club, Nelson Bay.
