‘Star Struck’ is an exciting showcase of dance, drama and music performed to a live orchestra by students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Since its inception in 1993, more than 60,000 public school students have taken part in the massive concert.

To celebrate this year’s 25th Anniversary, the theme is ‘Shine On’.

“The idea is to continue to shine on throughout life, no matter what hardships come your way, always try your best,” Karuah Teacher Lisa McGowan said.

“Students at Karuah have worked very hard to be chosen to participate in Star Struck 2017,” Mrs McGowan said.

“They gave up play during recess and lunch to practice the audition dance and all that hard work has paid off.”

“We are very proud of the students who at all times stay focused and try their best to learn the dance,” said Mrs McGowan.

“We can’t wait to participate with many other schools around the Hunter at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.”

The performance dates are 16-17 June.

For tickets to see  these amazing children, as well as many other students from around the Hunter, head to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre website, Star Struck ‘17 or through Ticketek.
