Healthy Tums, Healthy Gums to visit Tea Gardens

If you struggle getting your children to eat healthily and to look after their teeth then join us for a free program linking both nutrition and oral health together.

The Healthy Tums, Healthy Gums program is supported by The University of Newcastle, Family Action Centre and Hunter New England Health.

The program will be facilitated by a Dietitian and an Oral Health Therapist.

The program will be conducted in the St Stephens Catholic Parish Centre, Witt Street, Tea Gardens.

The program has four sessions which last for an hour.

The first session will be on Wednesday, 6 April at 9.30am and the second on 27 April at 9.30 am.

Healthy Tums, Healthy Gums program will be conducted during the usual Yummies 4 Mummies morning gathering.

The Yummies 4 Mummies helpers will care for the children with outside play.

The final sessions are to be advised and if it suits the participants may be held at night to allow working mums and dads to attend.

Content covered will include:  General Nutrition for kids; Nutrition and happy teeth; Family meal times (practical cooking demonstration); Budget friendly shopping.

The program will supply plenty of resources, free toothbrushes and either a sipper cup or drink bottle.

Participation is open to families within the local area.
