Sip and sample at Coffs City Rotary’s Wine, Beer and Food Enjoyment Day

Gourmet tasting platters on hand at Coffs City Rotary’s food and beverage tasting event.

THE best wineries, breweries, distilleries and gourmet food producers come together under one roof for you to sip and sample, try and taste at the 21st Coffs City Rotary’s Wine, Beer and Food Enjoyment Day.

Held at Pacific Bay Resort on Saturday 17 September the tipples and tasters start at 2.30pm through to 5.30pm.

Billed as an enjoyment day, it’s all about sip-and-see, having a taster and sampling the array of wines, beers and gins (Emerald Isle Distillers) with a view to ordering bottles of your favourites.

“Try new tipples or simply enjoy your existing favourites, then at the end of the day order more directly from our vendor sponsor BYO Cellar,” said event organiser George Cecato.

“Covid kept us under wraps in 2020 and 2021, but we know everyone’s glad to have the event up and running again.

“We sure are and it’s good to be back.”

“Rotary is all about serving the community,” said Coffs City Rotary Club President Jay Clowes.

“The wine event gives us an opportunity to bring some joy to Coffs and to raise money for worthy causes.

“There aren’t many events where you can spend some quality time with friends and do good at the same time.

“This is one of them.”

The 2022 event continues the tradition of holding the event at Pacific Bay Resort, this time on the Bayside deck area.

Locals and visitors have made this event a diary-must and look forward to an afternoon of sampling food and beverages, with the organisers telling first-timers they can look forward to “an afternoon of sampling delicious wines, tasty beers and gin, and mouth-watering food from some of Coffs Harbour’s best local producers”.

Ticket price includes unlimited sampling during the event, with a reminder that responsible service of alcohol rules apply.

“We have an amazing line-up of suppliers this year,” said Jay.

Wineries: Yalumba Wines, Wirra Wirra Wines, Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Stella Bella Wines, Deja Vu Wine Company and Bird in Hand Wines.

Breweries and distilleries: New England Brewing Companies, Wicked Elf Brewing Company, Woolgoolga Brewing Company, Emerald Island Distilling and King Tide Brewing.

Food companies bringing their tasty wares are: Bayside Bar & Grill, Fresco and Russell’s Prime Quality Meats.

“We look forward to seeing everyone there,” said George.

“Be sure to bring your credit card for the silent auction.”
