EAGLE Rock-ing Ross Wilson, front man for Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, will be pumping out his famous, get-up-and-dance hits as well as new solo songs as part of the eight-band line-up for Sounds of Rock, coming to Coffs Harbour in October.

Joining Aussie music legends including Daryl Braithwaite and Ian Moss, and Aussie Rock favourites Baby Animals, Rick Price, Dragon, Radiators, Wendy Matthews and Eurogliders – Wilson is excited to be back in Coffs and performing to the music-loving Coffs audience.

Sounds of Rock comes to Coffs Harbour Showground on 22 October.

“Me and Coffs go way back,” Ross Wilson told NOTA.

“Mondos used to play at the Plantation Hotel regularly.

“Coffs is a rockin’ city – the people love their music.

“And I’ve got friends who live here too so I’m very familiar with the area.”

Lately Wilson has been working on a bunch of new songs and is “heading into the studio to record ‘em – in between touring of course”.

“As you know, I’ve been around for quite a while, so you’ll hear my Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock hits plus songs from my solo albums and even a couple of those newbies.”

From Daddy Cool to Mondo Rock and as a solo artist with no less than 26 ARIA Top 40 hits to his credit as a
singer, songwriter and producer, Ross Wilson is one of Australia’s most awarded, respected and well-known
artists.

From the legendary band Daddy Cool whose number one anthem ‘Eagle Rock’ and debut album, Daddy
Who?, smashed all previous sales records in Australia 50 years ago in 1971, to the 1977 formation
of Mondo Rock, delivering 80’s hits ‘Cool World’, ‘State of The Heart’, ‘Chemistry’, ‘No Time’, and ‘Come Said The Boy’ and into the 21st century as a solo performer, Wilson has stayed in the limelight.

Twice inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, Wilson’s live performances are legendary.

“I’m always excited about playing live,” said Wilson.

“Lockdowns definitely took their toll on the music biz so right now we’re playing ‘catch up’ with a vengeance making up for lost time.

“I’m really looking forward to coming back to Coffs as part of Sounds Of Rock.

“It’s a great line-up and I’m buddies with all the other acts on the bill.

“Gonna be a fun day.”
