I want them to have a greater say in those decisions.” Coffs Harbour Labor member Michael Kemeny-Packwood added “These events will be an opportunity for us to hear directly from local youth about what matters to them. “The youth have been sidelined for too long and we want this event to be the first in a series that seeks to empower, connect and plant the seeds for healthy engagement that will last well into the future.” Mr Kemeny-Packwood said that Coffs Harbour Labor wants to build on the insights and experience of young people and offer them a seat at the table with members to grow a dynamic branch, party, and country. “Tides of political change are sweeping the nation and the time is now right for the youth of Coffs Harbour to give up ‘good’ so together we can pursue ‘great’,” he said. The first meeting will be at 7pm on Monday, 5 September at the Plantation Hotel. Events will take place at 7pm on the first Monday of the month. By Andrew VIVIAN
