THE Coffs Harbour Snappers womens, under 14s and under 16s sides have had a triumphant weekend in Port Macquarie, winning their Upper Mid North Coast Rugby Union grand finals.

The Snappers women’s side won their 2022 premiership with a 24-10 victory against the Kempsey Cannonballs, who had finished the home and away season as minor premiers.

Emma Thomas was named the best player in the grand final.

The Snappers under 14s capped off a top season as minor premiers by adding the premiership shield with a 12-5 win against the SCU Marlins.

The Snappers under 16s also won their grand final against the SCU Marlins, prevailing 12-10 against the minor premiers.

Kden Carter was the best player of the under 14s grand final, with Lucas Clifford man of the match in the under 16s.

Snappers president Jonathon Paff said the grand final victories reflected the strength of the clubs junior and women’s programs.

“It’s a great result, and I think it shows how strong our junior and women’s programs are, and if we keep building on those performances hopefully it will flow through to the senior sides in years to come,” he said.
