Croquet Championship hat trick for Sawtell

Pennant winners, (L to R) Jenny Arnold, Bob Chambers, Helen Chambers, Faye Smith, Angela Blackwell, Gary Urquhart and Liz Croker

Sawtell Croquet Club has won both Division 2 and Division 3 Regional Golf Croquet pennants for the third consecutive occasion.

Regional golf croquet pennants are played between February and June each year and the region extends from South West Rocks in the south to Coutts Crossing in the north.

In golf croquet, the first team to hit a ball through a hoop wins that hoop.

Each game is thirteen points, so the first team to win seven hoops wins the game.

A pennant match is two singles games and one double game, best of three.

The club was presented with the pennant shields at a luncheon recently.

Club captain Jenny Arnold said: “The strength of our intra-club competitions is a major factor in our success.”
