TUESDAY 2 August, 29 bowlers turned out today, it’s been a long time since we have had so many. A great opportunity for our Pennant teams to get some practice in, there were three games of Fours 21 ends and a game of 3 bowls Triples 18 ends. Lynda Richards, Jeanette Emmett, Deyonne Page and Karen McPhie defeated Sheila Rattray, Lorraine Murphy, Sandra Leisemann and Robyn Beaumont 33 to 25. A win for Jean Glover, Sheril Johnson, Dot Dallas and Bette Saillard 22 v Jan Coomer, Judi Polak, Irene Roberts and Judy McGavock 11. Dawn Jones, Dawn May and Dale Cameron proved to be too strong an opposition for Liv Everingham, Loretta Baker and Maynie Roberts winning by 17 shots, 26 v 9 and finally Jane Uff (swinger lead), Dee Douglas, Maureen Campbell and Dale Winter 21 v Jane, Chrissy Buddle, Pam Gilchrist and Karen Green 11. The winners on the day winning with the lowest margin were Lynda, Jeanette, Deyonne and Karen. Must have been Lynda’s lucky day she took home the raffle prize as well, many thanks to The Garden Eatery for donating the raffle prize. Prior to play, Club President Robyn Webster presented Loretta Baker a certificate for being a member of Womens Bowls NSW for 20 years. Thursday 4 August: Results as follows: Sheila Rattray, Lorraine Murphy, Dale Winter and Robyn Beaumont had a 17 all draw bowling against Lynda Richards, Robyn Webster, Deyonne Page and Karen McPhie. Jan Coomer, Judi Polak, Ingrid Luck and Judy McGavock 18 v Sheril Johnson, Jean Glover, Dot Dallas and Bette Saillard 13. Debbie Gardner and Pam Gilchrist 11 defeated Kris MacDonald and Dale Cameron 8. A win for Chriisy Buddle, Maynie Roberts and Maureen Campbell 13 v Sue Morris, Dorothy Thompson and Carol Hayden 5. Tuesday 9 August: No social bowls due to rain. Round one NDWBA Pennants 2022. TGWBC Grade 3 side were to have a home game but as both Greens were closed they travelled to Raymond Terrace to bowl against Stockton. Players in Grade 3 are Lynda Richards, Robyn Webster, Deyonne Page and Karen McPhie the other team is Sheila Rattray, Lorraine Murphy, Sandra Leisemann and Robyn Beaumont. Dale Winter substituted for Lorraine in this first game. Both teams had a win, winning the Master Board 49 v 34 and gaining 5 points. Our Grade 4 side headed to Merewether to play but due to rain they bowled at Raymond Terrace as well. Lyn Nightingale, Judi Polak, Ingrid Luck and Judy McGavock represent one half of this side the other half are Sheril Johnson, Jean Glover, Dot Dallas and Bette Saillard unfortunately both teams were beaten, one team just losing by one shot. Thursday 11 August: Grade 4 Pennant side had a Bye, Grade 3 bowled at Nelson Bay Bowling Club result here one team had a loss the other a win and thankfully by enough of a margin for the Tea Garden side to win the Master Board even if it was just by 1 point 38 v 37. Another 4 points to be added to our score. Thanks to Dale Winter for subbing again for Lorraine. The results of social bowls played a win for Sheril Johnson, Jean Glover, Dot Dallas and Bette Saillard 25 v Lyn Nightingale, Judi Polak, Ingrid Luck and Judy McGavock 11. An 11 all draw for Pam Gilchrist (swinger lead), Carol Hayden and Bev Dunn v Pam, Dorothy Thompson and Dale Cameron. Jan Coomer (swinger lead), Sue Morris and Maureen Campbell 16 v Jan, Chrissy Buddle and Jill McBride 7. Coming events: Both Grade 3 and Grade 4 Pennant sides have a home game on Tuesday 16 August on Thursday 18 August Grade 3 have a Bye and Grade 4 will be away at Stockton.
