In some areas, the rainfall was the heaviest single day of rain ever recorded. On Wednesday afternoon, some stormwater systems in locations across the region became overwhelmed. “This recovery is very much a combined effort with the NSW Police, SES, RFS, Fire and Rescue and the NSW Department of Communities and Justice – along with a range of local contractors – and of course our community,” said Council’s General Manager, Adrian Panuccio. “We thank everyone for their assistance and patience during this difficult time.” Roads right across the MidCoast were damaged and teams have been deployed to complete emergency works. Some roads remain closed but all towns are accessible by alternate routes. For live traffic updates, visit https://www.livetraffic.com/.
