CONGRATULATIONS to all who took part in the Compass performance at Coffs Harbour High School on Monday evening.

How wonderful to see schools from up the coast as far north as Tweed Heads joining together in a massed choral performance underpinned by the wonderful Bellingen Youth Orchestra.

These occasions are opportunities for small schools to see what is possible in the music world and what a pleasure to see recorders, the cinderellas of the music world competently played in a consort.

It all reinforces my belief that kids can do anything.

Well done to Coffs Harbour High School for hosting the event, all teachers, organisers, parents and drivers, not to mention the director Ian Jefferson who will conduct the final performance of the Festival of Choral Music in the Sydney Opera House.
