Bulahdelah Tennis Club’s annual championships have recently come to a close with some very exciting finals matches.

The ladies’ doubles saw Terri Burrows and Sarah Malone defeat Lynette Shultz and Bernadette Newton in a very exciting 3 set battle.

Bernadette and Lynette won the first set and were 5-0 in the second set when Sarah and Terri turned things around, winning the 2nd set in a tie break and the third 7-5. Such is tennis!

It’s not over ‘til it’s over! In the men’s doubles, Troy Shultz and Trent Lamborn defeated Michael Clouten and Richard Rae 2 sets to 1.

The mixed doubles were won by Trudy Graham and Trent Lamborn who defeated Thora-Lou Smith and Michael Clouten, 2 sets to 1.

The lady’s singles champion is Sarah Malone who defeated Meredyth Rae 2 sets to 1 and our men’s singles champion is Trent Lamborn who defeated Jordan Guthrie 2 sets to 1.

Meredyth Rae from the  club said, “We don’t actually crown a Club Champion, but if we did it would certainly be Trent Lamborn this year who was triumphant in all three of his events.”
The current mixed night competition is in full swing.

In this comp all divisions are playing together which is giving the younger players some wonderful experience playing with and against more experienced players.

“On 3 October the club will be hosting a Free Tennis Day with all sorts of activities, a BBQ lunch and coaching. More information will be available soon,” said Ms Rae.
