IT’s changeover time for Probus Club committees, and as the Clubs conduct their Annual General Meetings and coax some new blood onto the Executive Committees, it’s time to meet the new executive.

The Probus Club of Port Stephens is one of the larger clubs in the area, boasting 138 members, which means 30 active leadership roles and other positions where members contribute to keep the club running smoothly.

Ann Gibson told News Of The Area, “The Probus Club of Port Stephens achieved this objective at the AGM and 92 members and guests celebrated at the Changeover Luncheon afterwards.”

Popular President, Phil Dodd, was appointed for a second term after no other nominations were tendered.

Phil delivered his unique style of President’s Reports at the AGM, and another at the lunch, before introducing his band of merry men and women who will collectively carry this popular club forward.

“President Phil also had the pleasure of presenting one vibrant lady, Jo Burgess, with her Nonagenarian Certificate and Alan Lonard with a Probus 20 year service pin.”

This Probus Club meets on the second Thursday of the month at 10.30am at the Nelson Bay Bowling Club and has a guest speaker nearly every month.

Visitors are welcome.
