Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au Coffs Harbour is aiming to collaboratively set a record for Coffs Harbour LGA by signing up for an Australian record – the largest number of volunteers registered within the Coffs Harbour region. “We are hoping all organisations which involve volunteers will collaborate with us towards this amazing achievement,” Di Woods, Coffs Harbour Neighbourhood Centre (CHNC), told News Of The Area. “We already know that Coffs Harbour has one of the highest percentages in any area of people who volunteer. “It would be an amazing way to celebrate our volunteers, the amazing skills they have and the generous time they continue to dedicate. “Their efforts are worth much more than an economic benefit to our community. “Their smiles, empathy and support contribute every day to the health and wellbeing of our community. “Many of our services would not be able to keep their doors open without volunteers contributing their time and skills.” CHNC is asking for the support of all organisations that support volunteers, to contribute to this opportunity to recognise and celebrate our volunteers. For organisations to collaborate on this opportunity, please provide Volunteering Coffs Harbour Inc. with the following information. 1: A total number of volunteers that have volunteered with your organisation between 1 April 2021 and 1 April 2022. 2: A log showing volunteer names and an email address log, per group on organisation letterhead. These will then collaboratively be forwarded for collection and collation for an Australian record. Please provide these logs to Di Woods by 22 April 2022. “The earlier the better,” urges Di. “We will need at least 230 registered volunteers across our organisations to make it. “I know we have the number – but we need to have the documentation,” said Di.
