Joanne Sackley and Kim Gregory preparing meals. “We’re not calling for volunteers, although helpers are always welcome, but we would love to be serving hot lunchtime meals to more of you in our community,” said Meredyth Rae from the Meals of Wheels group at Bulahdelah. “We have been delivering delicious hot meals, prepared in the Great Lakes Nursing Home kitchen, for many, many years,” she said. The Meal on Wheels service has allowed elderly people to remain in their homes as long as possible and helped support, plus take the load off friends and relatives who provide for their loved ones. They also have helped people of all ages, some of who need time to recover from a stay in hospital or an operation. Ms Rae said, “Our wonderful volunteer drivers are always ready for a chat.
