SANDY Beach fiancé, father, son and loved local Michael ‘Bourkey’ Bourke lost his life in a vehicle accident on the afternoon of 24 March 2022.

Michael had gone down to Sydney to pick up a motorbike he had purchased.

He was riding his new bike home and at Tea Gardens was hit by another vehicle that claimed his and another woman’s life.

The driver who caused the accident underwent mandatory testing and the investigation is still open.

His devastated family are being supported by family and friends.

Michael’s funeral is planned for Monday 4 April.

Michael’s friend Jacob Howland has created a GoFundMe page with all funds going towards fiancée Maddy’s ongoing living costs and their little son Hudson’s upbringing.

“Michael dedicated fifteen years to Community Care Options as an aged and disability care worker,” Jacob told News Of The Area.

“He was a valued member of both the organisation and the community.

“He was one in a million, the kind of person that would go out of his way for anyone close to him or who needed it, the kind of person that would be the brightest spark in a room, always quick with a joke and could make anyone laugh and smile.

“Coffs Harbour will shine a little less bright without him around, but I guess that shows how much he meant to everyone, and how he will be remembered by all who had the pleasure to know this beautiful man.”
