Coffs Coast Tigers put ten past Taree Wildcats

Christian Mirandi scored two goals for the Tigers.

COFFS Coast Tigers struck ten times in a dominant performance over the Taree Wildcats to progress to the fourth Round of the Australia Cup last Saturday at the Coffs Coast Sport and Leisure Park synthetic fields.

The Tigers imposed their attacking brand of possession football from the get-go as Jacob Field opened the scoring in the twelfth minute and went on to score a hat-trick for the Tigers in a convincing victory.

Jacob Field turned provider for the second goal when Christian Mirandi instinctively side footed the ball home from six yards and Mirandi added a second goal from the penalty spot in the second half.

It was an all round polished performance from the Tigers with Thomas Mitchell, Ptolemy Horan, Marko Kisose, Muan Lian and Innocent David scoring goals.

Tigers goalkeeper and captain Luke Kliendienst praised how the team did the simple things well as they look forward to playing Bellingen in the next round.

“I think we played pretty well, we started with trying to do the simple stuff right and run Taree around to finish them later on in the game.

“We have a few new boys to the club to add depth to our squad which is good for us.

“It has been pretty tough to get on the pitch to train and do our usual sessions but we have had to work around the weather and keep working on how we want to play this season.

“Looking forward to playing against Bello as they are a new team to the CPL with some older experienced boys,” said Luke.

The Tigers now play Bellingen FC on Saturday 12 March with a 2pm kick off at the Coffs Coast Sport and Leisure Park synthetic fields in round four of the Australia Cup.
