Pat Baker Celebrating “0” birthday.

 

THE Australian Indoor Qualifiers Competition was held from the 11 – 14 February, five venues Warilla, East Cessnock, Merimbula, Soldiers Point and North Haven.

There were 322 entrants from these fifteen women and eight men secured their place in the 2022 Australian Indoor Championship to be played at Tweed Heads from 15 – 19 August.

Well done to Robyn Beaumont (TGWBC) who bowled at East Cessnock, Robyn made it through to the Semi Finals where she was beaten by Melanie L’Estrange (South Tamworth).

Melanie ultimately qualified to play In the Australian Indoor Championship.

Tuesday 15 February: Three games two bowls Triples 21 ends.

Maureen Campbell, Sheril Johnson and Karen McPhie held a lead of 17 shots (17 v 0) 0n the 9th end bowling against Jan Coomer, Judi Polak and Dale Winter.

Things didn’t really improve for Dale’s team losing by 16 shots, 28 v 12.

A big win also to Christine Fossey, Dawn May and Robyn Webster 20 v Bette Saillard, Francis Betar and Sandra Leisemann 10.

Lynda Richards, Deyonne Page and Judy McGavock started strongly in front by eight shots on the 11th end by the 17th end Jean Glover, Dawn Jones and Pat Baker had caught up the score now 15 all, by the 21st end 19 all, no winners or losers.

The winners on the day were Maureen, Sheril and Karen given ten for a win plus ends.

Deyonne Page won the voucher to The Garden Eatery. After bowls all members joined in to wish Pat Baker a happy “0” birthday.

Thursday 17 February: Format for play three bowls Triples, twelve ends.

Jean Glover, Bev Rhodes and Karen Green 22 defeated Sheril Johnson, Maureen Campbell and Maynie Roberts 22 v 6.

A close contest between Deborah Gardner, Judy Polak and Judy McGavock 9 v Jane Uff, Lynne Green and Pat Baker 7.

A convincing win for Lynda Richards, Sue Morris and Karen McPhie 16 v Pam Gilchrist, Bev Dunn and Bette Saillard 4.

Coming events: Thursday 24 February, RSL Pairs Trophy Day.
