Tea Gardens Public School saw a week of varied and inspirational activities designed to prepare some students for the transition to High School and to encourage others to strive for excellence in everything from music to science.

Teachers and students from Bulahdelah Central School visited on Wednesday for a Showcase day.

Tea Gardens Principal Mark Clemson said, “It’s a great opportunity for the students to get a feel for High School which is quickly approaching and also to meet their future classmates in the upcoming year 7.”

‘With the move to High School one of the most important transitions in a student’s school life, we aim to make it smooth and show the students what great things are ahead for them.”

Public Speaking was at the forefront on Thursday morning with local resident Mr Ian Dunlop once more giving his time to adjudicate for the finals.

Mrs Anya Ingram one of the public speaking organisers said, “It is amazing how well the students can express themselves in front of an audience, we are so proud of what they have achieved in a short space of time.”

Careers Through Science is a program that teaches students to ‘work scientifically’ and gives them an insight into career paths available in the Scientific field.

This took place on Thursday for year four.

Education week at Tea Gardens Public School finished with a whole School assembly followed by the now ‘unmissable’ Christmas in July lunch.

Sydney Conservatorium of Music Northern Tour Performance saw students from the Conservatorium perform a concert for the whole school.

Mr Clemson said, “I wish to thank everyone who assisted in the success of the week, teachers, support staff, students and volunteers who all contributed to the furthering of our students futures.”
