URUNGA’S Riverside Holiday Resort has been inducted into the prestigious NSW Tourism Awards Hall of Fame, for taking out top honours in the Self-Contained Accommodation category for the third year in a row. The NSW Tourism Awards 2021 were announced at a virtual ceremony on 3 February. “The NSW Tourism Awards are a celebration of the outstanding resilience and innovative spirit demonstrated by our magnificent industry over the past two years,” said NSW Tourism Industry Council Executive Manager, Greg Binskin. Rebecca Beaton, Resort Manager and Federation of Community, Sporting & Workers Clubs (FCSWC) Group’s Marketing Manager told News Of The Area, “I am unbelievably proud, winning the Self-Contained Accommodation category for three years in a row and now entering the Hall of Fame is our highest achievement. “We have also won Excellence in Accessible Tourism for the past two years and feel so proud to offer exceptional accommodation and facilities to all guests regardless of their abilities. “The past few years have been hard for everyone. “Here, the entire Riverside Holiday Resort Team pulled together and went over and above to cater to each of our guests’ individual needs. “Through the peak of Covid in 2020 and 2021 we offered discounted emergency accommodation to those in our community most in need. “Working for a not-for-profit organisation (FCSWC) with wonderful values meant we were able to keep people safe and keep staff employed during the pandemic. “Customer service is the most important thing and making sure each guest’s needs are not only met but well and truly exceeded, is so important to us. “We were all very disappointed when the NSW Tourism Awards (due to be held at Luna Park, Sydney) was cancelled and converted to an online event. “Having said that, NSW Tourism pulled off an exceptional night. “There is a first time for everything and I must say, I have never done my hair and makeup and climbed into bed before….ha!” Rebecca Beaton is now looking forward to the prestigious Australian Tourism Awards which will be held on 18 March on the Sunshine Coast. “I am really looking forward to celebrating our success along with all the other tourism operators within Australia. “Fingers crossed the event goes ahead as planned so we can all enjoy a face-to-face get together with friends in our industry…well done to the entire Riverside Holiday Resort Team and go NSW.” By Andrea FERRARI Rebecca Beaton, Riverside Holiday Resort Urunga, celebrating virtually.
