Raymond Terrace Christmas Light Competition Port Stephens by News Of The Area - Modern Media - December 15, 2021 RAYMOND Terrace locals will have the chance to show off their Christmas light displays with a brand new competition. West Ward Councillor Giacomo Arnott has organised a Raymond Terrace Christmas lights competition to find the best lights in all of Raymond Terrace. Advertise with News of The Area today. It’s worth it for your business. Message us. Phone us – (02) 4981 8882. Email us – media@newsofthearea.com.au “It’s been a tough year for everyone, and I wanted to give back to the community, both in Christmas cheer and to support a local family who’s gone above and beyond to spread that cheer,” Mr Arnott said. Anyone can nominate a house in the area that has a great display of Christmas lights and then on 22 December, a map will be released of all nominated houses so that everyone can see the best lights in town before Christmas. Visitors will then be invited to vote for their favourite lights. The occupants of the winning house will receive a $100 bunnings gift card and a special visit from Raymond Terrace Fire and Rescue NSW with Santa on board a fire truck, to a nominated young person in Raymond Terrace or Heatherbrae as a special prior to Christmas next year. “This is a family friendly event, costs nothing to enter or participate, and should help make Christmas memorable for our community. “Good luck to everyone out there decorating their homes, and I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year,” Mr Arnott said. Although this is the first year running the competition, Mr Arnott is already hoping to run the competition every year and encourages everyone to get involved.
