THE last of this year’s Men’s Championships was played at Soldiers Point Bowling Club last week.

After defeating Dave Tennant and Pete Smith in the Semi-finals of the Consistency Singles, Roy Sutherland and Daniel Collaros played in the Final in a very high standard of bowls.

In this competition, the four closest bowls to the jack are awarded points.

On several occasions in this match, all eight bowls by the two players were within one metre of the jack such was the standard of play.

Roy took an early lead and, despite being pressed by Daniel, sustained the lead winning by 156 points to 124.

Congratulations go to Roy Sutherland for winning the last Men’s Championship in this Covid year in which competitive bowls has been severely restricted.
