Library Outreach Services Officer, Meredith Campbell and Foster Study Nights FEATURED Forster, Tuncurry by NOTA - July 1, 2015 Great Lakes Council’s Forster Library will be opening its doors after-hours to provide a safe study environment for HSC students, away from the distractions at home. Jessie Armstrong, Sam Ellery, Victoria Cross, Marnie Maytom, Nyssa Davis, Chantelle Sanks, Carly Withers, Lily Whitton, Lauren Patch, Alison Warner, Harrison Nowland and Tom Perkins bunkered down in the Library in 2014 for the HSC Study Nights. “Each year we meet with the Student Representative Council and confirm dates that we think will suit. This is the fourth year we’ve offered this service and it is really popular and well received by students,” said the Library Outreach Services Officer, Meredith Campbell. The first round ties in with the HSC trials and commences on Wednesday 15 July, 5pm until 8pm. The library will then open for the next three consecutive Wednesdays, 22 July, 29 July and 5 August in preparation for the trials. Plenty of food, tea, coffee, juice, free printing and photocopying and wi-fi are also part of the deal. No bookings are required and students are free to arrive and leave when they like. Students can use the library like their own lounge room, to either work in groups or work alone. A second round will be offered closer to the HSC itself if the students need this. This has been extremely successful in the past and we hope this service continues to support our HSC students. For more information please call Meredith Campbell at Forster Library on 6591 7256.
