Motor Vehicle Accident

Karuah Rural Fire Brigade were called to a motor vehicle accident on Tarean Road this week.

On Monday 22 November, the Brigade attended an accident in which a truck crashed into the bush after losing control of the vehicle on the wet road.

There were no injuries to the sole occupant.

Santa Run

Santa has been spotted in the Soldiers Point Rural Fire Brigade this week planning his trip around Soldiers Point/ Salamander Bay for this year’s Santa Run.

After such a long and stressful year, the Brigade is looking forward to seeing so many smiling faces as we make our way around town.

When: 24 December 2021

Time: Approximately a 3pm start from Soldiers Point Station

As in previous years, there will be a tracking system up and running to see Santa’s location.

More information will be available in the coming weeks so please keep an eye out on the Brigade’s Facebook page.

Road Closures

Moderate flooding across Port Stephens and the Hunter Region has led to a number of road closures and safety issues this week.

Newline Road in Raymond Terrace was one of these, with rising waters prompting Emergency Services to close the road for safety along with parts of Hunter St, Glenelg St and Swan St.

Port Stephens SES Flood Response

Crews from NSW SES Port Stephens have been busy this week in both the local area and supporting the greater Hunter Area during the floods.

Crews have been performing several different tasks including: flood rescue standby in Dungog, Singleton and Port Stephens area, flood Intelligence in Muswellbrook, Dungog, Singleton and Port Stephens area, storm response in Muswellbrook and Port Stephens area and door knocking/community awareness in Raymond Terrace.

Remember – if it’s flooded, forget it.

Do not drive through flood waters.

Truck Collision

On 26 November, Port Stephens SES were activated by Police for a persons trapped motor vehicle accident between a truck and a car at Heatherbrae.

SES responded and worked alongside NSW Police, NSW Ambulance and Fire and Rescue NSW to extricate the patient from the vehicle and transport to hospital for further treatment.
