Denis said, “Taken during a brief respite from lockdown, the photo shows the sails of the Sydney Opera House majestically reaching out of the ground towards the summer sky together with glimpses of the Harbour Bridge, all unhindered by tourists or locals. “Not a person can be seen in the photograph, a stark reminder of 2021, the year a virus brought Sydney to a standstill.” Denis fell in love with photography whilst still at school when he became a member of a group of students who set up one of the first school darkrooms in NSW. This love continued throughout his life. Denis has taken a large collection of underwater photos and is still growing with his travels and capturing the local area.
