Holden Car Club rolls into Tea Gardens FEATURED Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - June 17, 2015 If you visited Marine Drive Tea Gardens on Sunday 14 June you could have been forgiven for thinking you had woken up in the seventies. Two car clubs had a run from Newcastle to our town and about twenty older Holden’s were parked across from the public wharf with owners picnicking nearby. The ’48-’78 Holden Car Club Hunter Valley and the Hunter Valley Monaro Club had a combined run choosing our area as a lunch stop for the day. Kicking off at Hexham, they cruised their prized possessions up the Pacific Highway to visit the shores of the beautiful Myall River and our local businesses. Craig Sweeney from the ’48-’78 Holden Car Club Hunter Valley said, “What a great spot and the weather is magnificent.” A great family day for the groups with a lot of good feedback going back to Newcastle regarding our area as a ‘must go’ on the yearly run calender. If you have a club or group holding an event in the area, please contact the Myall Coast News and we will get on down for a chat and a photo. It’s events like this that keep local business flourishing and spread the word about our area as a great place to visit.
