STROUD’S youngest community members are spreading joy and love to the community.

It’s no surprise that COVID-19 has affected our communities, however, many fail to consider social distancing, lockdowns and a pandemic’s impact on the youngest members of our community.

Instead of focusing on the negatives, the educators and children in attendance at Stroud Preschool took to making posters and signs to cheer up the community.

Stroud Preschool educator Zoë Tolhurst told News Of The Area about the current situation at the preschool.

“Preschool has been tough for the children; either not being able to attend and not being able to see friends or attending but not seeing all their friends.

“For a preschooler it is hard to fully understand what is actually going on around them,” Zoë said.

As a way of expressing this, the children of the preschool decided to make posters for the community.

“We spoke to the children about what they missed, what they wanted to say or draw to their friends that they couldn’t see right now.

“We attached our posters to our back fence for the community to see on their walks or drives and put it up on our local Stroud Facebook page.

“We received a lot of positive feedback so it was nice that the children were able to brighten the community during our lockdown,” Zoë said.

Many took to the comments of the post commending the preschool for their great idea, mentioning how the signs made commenter’s days.

In a time where there is so much uncertainty, it’s beautiful to see creativity and positivity in the community.
