A vaccine themed poem from the Myall U3A Poetry Session

THE July Myall U3A Poetry Session was led recently by local journalist David Ingram.

The poem below was penned by Ray Keipert.

The Jab Jingle

(to be set to the tune of an old song)

AstraZeneca, AstraZeneca

A man had a jab and flew to America

With AstraZeneca, AstraZeneca

We’ll knock the virus off.

A woman had Pfizer, said she felt wiser

Yes, she chose Pfizer, for her it was wiser

Pfizer, wiser, her name was Eliza

To her my hat I doff.

We’ll soon have Moderna, a nice little earner

It’s coming, Moderna check out that earner

Moderna, earner it’s on the back burner

Get it before you cough.

There’s Johnson and Johnson, so far not Ronson

Johnson and Johnson, they don’t offer Ronson

Johnson and Johnson  –  no way it’s a con, son

The choice of every toff.

The last one is Russian, not German or Prussian

We may buy the Russian and give up on Prussian

Russian, Russian  –  let’s end the discussion

It’s made by Doc Pavlov.

So head to the clinic, please don’t be a cynic

By car or by cab, then wait for your jab.

Put paid to the virus before it will tire us

And let’s knock the whole thing off!
