LEWIS Hackfath is a born and bred Coffs Harbour local, growing up on Middle Boambee and attending Toormina High School and The Senior College before studying Information Technology (IT) at both TAFE and university.

Currently working full time in IT, he has also set up his own part time business creating websites as well as providing services in photography and cinematography.

On top of all this Lewis has taken his experience on stage with Coffs Harbour Musical Comedy Company shows at the Jetty Memorial Theatre and put together his own production of an original musical.

When asked why he decided to take on this extra major responsibility, he told News Of The Area, “I wanted to do something that exercised my creative side, and I like that I could create a plan and from the first rehearsal visualise how I wanted the show to go, and then watching it grow to match my vision.

“Directing gives me the joy of realising my creative potential.”

Currently in rehearsal, Lewis picked the musical parody ‘Twisted, The Untold Story of a Royal Visier’ created by Starkid Productions because he admires the organisation for growing from a modest start on Youtube to producing their own original full stage musicals.

Based on the story of Aladdin, the musical retells it from the point of view of the villain, the Royal Vizier Ja’Far.

The show has a cast of 19 local performers and will hit the stage at the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium for five shows from Wednesday September 22 to Saturday September 25.

As well as producing and directing the show, Lewis also plays the lead role.
