Draft Delivery Program & Operational Plan – Great Lakes Council MidCoast LGA (overall news) by NOTA - May 12, 2015 Great Lakes Council has prepared a draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan for 2015-2016 and is seeking your views on the proposed plans. “The Delivery Program is Council’s commitment towards achieving the objectives outlined in the Community Strategic Plan after considering available resources,” said Council’s General Manager Glenn Handford. “In front of our mind is ensuring Council’s actions work towards the community’s vision of a unique and sustainably managed environment balanced with quality lifestyle opportunities created through appropriate development, infrastructure and services,” said Mr Handford. Building relationships with and being responsive to our community will remain a focus for Council and we are continuing to provide opportunities for community engagement. A series of public meetings have been scheduled to enable the community to receive information and comment on Council’s plans. Councillors, the General Manager and senior staff will be in attendance to answer questions. These sessions will include the General Manager’s six-monthly update with information on potential future projects, possible funding sources including a special rate variation in 2016/2017, Council’s financial position and achievement of ongoing efficiencies. Information will also be provided on Council’s position on the State Government’s local government reform program and merger talks with Gloucester Shire Council. The Delivery Program and Operational Plan will be on public exhibition from 4 May – 5 June and submissions are welcome in that period. We look forward to your participation in our consultation program. A meeting was conducted yesterdat at Stroud. Next Thursday 14 May at 6pm a meeting is scheduled at Tea Gardens Baptist Church.
