A DRAFT Brelsford Park Masterplan which includes a civic entrance to the park, water play area, major event stage, amphitheatre and a mobile food and drink kiosk will soon be placed on public exhibition by Coffs Harbour City Council.

Following public exhibition, the final Brelsford Park Masterplan will be presented to Council for its approval to be incorporated into the Coffs Harbour City Centre Masterplan 2031.

The City Centre Masterplan’s vision is for Brelsford Park to be a “vibrant civic public park and focal point of the city, connecting the City Centre, community and surrounding environment through tree lined pathways”.

Brelsford Park currently only boasts two main areas of activity, the existing skate park and the children’s playground.

Future opportunities presented in the Draft Brelsford Park Masterplan include establishing priorities for pedestrians and cyclists, creating desirable connections through Brelsford Park, improving public amenity, creating an entry point into the park, enhancing vegetation, using the space for active recreation and a range of events, additional public seating and a mobile kiosk site, and the potential for outdoor classroom opportunities for surrounding educational establishments bordering the park.

The draft masterplan states that “Brelsford Park is an evolutionary park that has provided its community with a diverse range of activities throughout its time and still remains to be an active and vibrant hub today”.

The Park is planned to be divided into four areas, amenities, kiosk and public seating area, event space kiosk seating and amphitheatre, active recreation, and water play.

The Draft Brelsford Park Masterplan will soon be placed on public exhibition by Council for 28 days.
