THE importance of undergoing Covid-19 tests is greater than ever.

If you have any of the following symptoms, you will need to have a test to rule out COVID-19:

• Blocked nose
• Sore throat
• Headache
• Coughing
• Fever
• Shortness of breath

The procedure is quick, and involves a swab of both nostrils and the back of the throat.

Once the test is complete, you must go home and isolate until you get a negative test result back.

Do not stop anywhere on the way home.

Results usually arrive via text message within 24-48 hours, however with increased numbers of tests being conducted, results may take up to three days.

If you do test positive for COVID-19, you will receive a phone call from a NSW Health official.
