Large snake at Hawks Nest front door Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest by NOTA - April 29, 2015April 29, 2015 Wednesday 22 April found a very full Diamond Python trying to digest a rabbit just next to the front door of a Hawks Nest residence. On Saturday prior to the storm, the visitor dropped by to finish off what was probably its last meal before settling in for the cold weather. Unfortunately for the snake it was a case of bad timing with the storm hitting and the temperature plummeting making it difficult to digest the large meal. The residents didn’t feel comfortable with the proximity to their front door and the fact that their pet dog was smaller than the rabbit working its way down. At the request of the residents, their visitor was quietly bagged and relocated to a far more comfortable bush retreat. Another victim of the storm saved by local help.
