This year on June 23 the goal is to raise another $70,000. C.ex Group CEO, John Rafferty said this year’s funds will be evenly distributed to local welfare charity partners: Bridging the Gap Community Services and Warrina Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services. John said, “Supporting the community is an integral part of the C.ex Group’s mission and values and we see the Sleep Out as an opportunity to create awareness about homelessness on the Coffs Coast, whilst sleeping out with other businesses in our community to raise funds to assist others.” John will be sleeping out again in 2021, his sixth year of participating in the event. Shona Hunter, Marketing Manager C-ex explained the format of the event to News Of The Area, “Attendees arrive at C.ex Coffs International Stadium at 6pm, cardboard boxes are available for those wishing to use them (donated by Jarod Jones from The Good Guys), dinner is served around 7pm which consists of a bowl of soup and a bread roll, everyone finds a place to set-up the night and most try and get comfy and have an early night. “In the morning we provide a light breakfast. “We had heavy rain during the event one year, which was incredibly tough for those that participated, but it definitely made them appreciate a warm bed and safe place to call home.” Join the Sleep Out or support it: https://cex.com.au/register/.
